Chamling inaugurates Career Prospect 2010- more than 5000 youths
facilitated

Chief
Minister Shri Pawan Chamling inaugurated the historical
2-day Career cum Employment Fair at Chintan Bhawan on March
25, 2010 where more than 5000 youths were handed over loans
and other incentives to start their own business ventures in
the State.
The
break-up of the various loans and incentives granted were as
follow:
-
A total number of
694 sanctioned orders for beneficiaries under Poultry
Mission and Dairy Mission under the Department of Animal
Husbandry and Veterany Services. Token distribution made to
10 beneficiaries;

Issued Kisan Credit
Card to over 1500 farmers. Five cards to five farmers as
token distribution;
-
Issued ten (10)
Appointment Letters for appointment in different private
sector including Wai Wai factory;
-
Assistance to 25
identified beneficiaries under the Prime Minister’s
Employment Guarantee Programme through the DICs;
-
Distribution of
subsidy and margin money to 7 beneficiaries under Khadi &
Village Board;
-
A total of 59
appointment letters issued for employment in hydro-power
companies. A token distribution of 12 made on the spot;
-
Under the Excise
Department, 42 appointment letters issued for employment in
private companies related to manufacture of alcohol and
beverages. A token distribution to 10 appointees made;
-
Assistance to a
total of 1484 youths from Horticulture and Cash Crops
Development for taking up horticultural projects like orange
nursery, cardamom nursery and vermin composing. A token
distribution made to 25 beneficiaries. The Department also
made token distribution of 16 Kisan Credit Cards;

Under Health
Department, a total of 131 appointment orders issued to
successful candidates for appointment in various
pharmaceutical companies. 10 token distribution made;

60 conditional
appointment orders issued to candidates for training at ATTC
for subsequent employment as Basic Pharma Operators at
Torrent Pharma Ltd.

Under Labour
Department, a total of 39 appointment orders issued for
Industrial Training Institutes, Gyalshing and Namchi and the
Torrent Pharmaceutical Ltd. 10 token appointments made;

Revolving Fund to
148 self help groups under the Swarna Jayanti Swarojgar
Yojna by SRDA under Rural Management & Development
Department. Token distribution made to 8 self help groups;
-
2000 candidates
shortlisted by SIDICO under the Chief Minister’s Self
Employment Scheme. Token distribution made to 30
beneficiaries;
-
A total of 133
beneficiaries identified for assistance under SAABCO. 10
token distribution made;
-
102 Kisan Credit
Cards and Poultry Loan issued through SISCO Bank. Token
distribution made to 9 beneficiaries;
-
Grants under Swarna
Jayanti Sahari RojgarYojna (SJSRY) sanctioned. 44 benefits
under women and Child development schemes identified. 7
tokens distributed;

The Sikkim Organics
issued employment orders to 5 local educated unemployed;
Conceptualized
by Shri Chamling, this Career Fair was the third edition in
series, organized under the supervision of Directorate of
Personnel, A.R. and Training, Government to provide the educated
unemployed with the best opportunities for self help and for
range of training programs.

of the Fair, the Chief Minister appealed the youths to take
advantage of the available incentives from the State Government.
In the fair, more than 75 stalls of State Government,
multinational companies and others were installed to provide
awareness and inform about the employment opportunities to the
educated youths. The Fair was attended by the Speaker Shri KT
Gyaltsen, Deputy Speaker, Shri MB Dahal, Cabinet Ministers and a
large number of youths coming from all the four districts.
