Chief Minister Chamling’s 2nd edition of “10 Minutes to Earth”, observed

    Over 6 lakh saplings planted in 10 Minutes!

     “10 Minutes to Earth”, an initiative conceptualized and launched by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling across the State last year, received its second edition today. Starting at 9.15 am the government agencies, social organizations, community groups and individuals across the State dedicated 10 minutes to a simultaneous, state-wide plantation drive. As per information received from the Forest Department, more than 6 lakh saplings were planted over 10 minutes across the State today.

Governor B.P Singh, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling and Mrs. Tika Maya Chamling planted rhododendron saplings in the Ganesh Tok temple complex above the capital.

Speaker K.T Gyaltsen, Forest Minister Bhim Dhungel, Minister, MLAs, advisors to the Government of Sikkim, Chief Secretary HODs along with the officials of the Forest Departments also participated in this plantation drive. More than five hundred saplings of Rhododendron were planted in the 4 km stretch from Ganesh-Tok to Tashi View Point.
