 CM tours Mangan-

also visits site for proposed Reclining Buddha Project!!

     Mangan July 30: The Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling along with his Cabinet Ministers visited North District today. He visited and inspected the proposed site of Reclining Buddha Garden at Shinghik, where he was shown and explained in detail about proposed replica of Sleeping Buddha statue by the concerned officials. This unique and tourist fascinating statue of Sleeping Buddha is going to be installed by the Government of Sikkim as a landmark in the history. 

    The CM’s entourage then visited the Mangan bazaar area and inspected facilities there. During his bazaar visit, the CM directed the concerned officials to re-lay the entire sewage and drainage system of the town, this time with proper planning not just for the present requirements, but also adequately developed for future growth as well.

    The CM reiterated the need for proper planning and quality work in all assets developed for the town as part of its beautification drive. During his tour of the district, the CM also called on the Border Roads Organisation to carry out timely and proper road maintenance works on the North Sikkim Highway.

     The Mangan Nagar Panchayats also placed a petition with the CM seeking renovation of the Pentok road, better caar parking facilities for Mangan and appointment of a vehicle for garbage management at mangan bazaar.

    The Chief Minister along with his Cabinet Ministers also attended the funeral of Late P.G. Tenzing at his residence at Pentok.

    The Chief Minister also made similar visit to the towns of Rongli, Rhenock and the Reshi Check-Post (East) earlier in his continued campaign to beautify the towns and make/upgrade public facilities to world class.
