Minister attends Pang Lhabsol festival as Chief Guest

Ravangla, September 13, 2011,Our custom and tradition is
what defines our identity as distinct among the world
communities and Pang Lhabsol festival is one of the many
festivals in Sikkim to enrich our identity. The Chief Minister
Shri Pawan Chamling said this who attended the Pang Lhabsol
festival here at Ravangla as the Chief Guest on September 12,
2011.
As a pilgrimage centre, Sikkim is already known country-wide and
with the commissioning of Buddha Park here at Ravangla, this
will further boost the image of the State and also local
economy. This will be an economic instrument to solve local
employment, if only the local youths and entrepreneurs are ready
to work, said the Chief Minister. He further informed the
impressive gathering that the project would be formally
inaugurated by April 2012 next year. With the installation of
statue of Guru Rimpoche at Samdruptse, Buddha Park at Ravangla
and statue of Chen Regiz in West Sikkim, Sikkim is spiritually
transformed into Shim-Kham- a paradise on earth, said the Chief
Minister.
Calling upon younger generation to be positive and hard working,
the Chief Minister said that knowledge is the most important
thing and they should properly harness all the expanding
opportunity in the State and the region.
Recalling his Village-to-Village tour, the Chief Minister
informed the gathering that all demands submitted by the public
members are being placed in the last Assembly which would be
taken on phase manner. The Chief Minister further informed that
upgradation and beautification of Ravangla bazaar would commence
on ground from March 2012 which would transform this upcoming
town at par with Gangtok and Namchi towns.
The Welcome address was delivered by the area MLA, Shri Sonam
Gyatso Bhutia and the meeting was attended by Hon’ble Ministers,
MLAs, government officials, NGOs and large number of public
gathering.
